General
Fully funded support? It probably sounds too good to be true, but it’s not. We genuinely want to collaborate with those that are passionate about supporting young people’s wellbeing.
You can complete our brief Expression of Interest form and a member of our team will reach out to you to discuss your needs and next steps.
You can also just drop us an email or give us a call!
We’d be delighted to support you and answer any questions you might have.
We understand it seems too good to be true! But really, we just want to collaborate with schools that are passionate about supporting young people’s wellbeing before they reach crisis point. We establish KPIs to help shape their work and benefit from seeing the difference it can make.
Charity
mdeducational foundation is a registered charity set up to provide dedicated wellbeing support for post-16 settings in schools across the UK and Ireland. With a lack of research and support for students between 16-18, we see further education as a crucial area of improvement in the support for young people dealing with wellbeing challenges.
Two of the Trustees of mdeducational foundation are philanthropists who are passionate about supporting and integrating mental health and wellbeing into the very fabric of young people’s education. Funding is in place to support schools/educational settings over the next number of years.
We are aiming to make the biggest impact within the post-16 age bracket because of the sheer gap in support for students aged 16-18. This lack of support is usually driven by lengthy waiting lists and proximity to adulthood.
Funding
We provide funding to support the salary of the Wellbeing Lead. This should be adequate in ensuring a full-time position for student benefit. This will vary relating to regional differences.
We’re giving educational settings the opportunity to register for salary funding that will place a full-time Wellbeing Lead in their school/college for 3 years. Predominantly, this is for student wellbeing purposes, the role can also include advising on systemic changes the school could make to improve the overall wellbeing of their students.
We hope that the educational setting has seen a positive impact from their students after the placement of the Wellbeing Lead, and would therefore want to embed and support this within their own long-term strategic plans.
After the 3-year funding period has ended, we we’ll conduct an overall review and if applicable discuss how further support could benefit your students.
Application & Process
Their employment contract will be with your educational establishment, so you’ll be fully involved in the recruitment process. However, mdeducational foundation will of course support you all the way through, from job application to interview stage as needed.
After our initial meeting, if we are collaboratively aligned in terms of the mdeducational foundation’s vision, mission and values, we will be delighted to provide you with our application form for your completion. Don’t worry, it’s not an arduous process!
Once mdeducational foundation has received and reviewed your application form one of our team members will reach out to you to arrange a visit to discuss our support and agree on next steps.
We collaborate with schools to measure outcomes and progress against agreed KPIs. This ensures the foundation and school can see the impact the Wellbeing Lead is having. The annual progress report produced by the Wellbeing Lead, will focus on the effectiveness of their work and serve to improve the standards of wellbeing support for students year-on-year.
Wellbeing Leads
Current Wellbeing Lead roles are advertised externally for our schools and educational settings. You can find the current openings across the UK and Ireland here: View vacancies
We welcome applications from any individual who meets the required criteria for the position including availability to fulfil the role on a full-time (term time) basis for 3 years in the first instance. Check the current vacancies here.
From student feedback, having a space where the Wellbeing Lead can be based, and where students can go, has been a huge benefit. It’s not the be-all or end-all, but our preference would be that it is given serious consideration as we’ve seen so much success from it.
