Meet mdeducational foundation Ambassadors

Julia Darby
We’re excited to welcome Julia Darby as our newest Ambassador for mdeducational foundation!
Julia works as a Forensic Multimedia Officer with Thames Valley Police, where she helps deliver justice for victims of crime. Her drive to support others is rooted in personal experience – growing up with a sibling who has complex needs and facing her own mental health challenges as a student. These experiences have shaped her deep empathy for young people navigating difficult circumstances.
Now thriving in her career, Julia is passionate about using her voice to advocate for students who may be struggling in silence. Through her role as an Ambassador, she hopes to share her journey, raise awareness and offer hope to young people facing similar challenges.
We’re proud to have Julia on board as part of our Ambassador Programme, helping us continue to put student wellbeing at the heart of education.

James Sweeney
We’re delighted to introduce James Sweeney as the very first Ambassador for mdeducational foundation!
James is a passionate advocate for youth mental health, with a background in clinical work and a strong track record of supporting young people throughout his academic and professional journey. His personal commitment to student wellbeing, paired with his lived experience and professional insight, makes him a powerful voice for change.
Currently undertaking a PhD with Atlantic Technological University and Ulster University, James is part of the U-WELL research project – a cross-border initiative exploring the transition from school to university and its impact on students’ mental health across Ireland. Through this project, and in collaboration with mdeducational foundation, he has visited several of our supported schools, engaging with students and conducting research to help inform better support systems.
We’re proud to have James championing our mission as part of our Ambassador Programme – and excited for all we’ll achieve together.
